Daybreak Birch II 18" x 24"

18"X24" Wood Canvas. 
 
I love when backpacking, waking up and watching the sun rise, and how it highlights the trees and reveals the blue skies.  Daybreak Birch is inspired by those treasured mornings.  
There's something about this technique: the texture, the unpredictability, the areas I can't control.  I'll start with an idea, but the surface always surprises me and honestly, that's my favorite part.
